You are the mighty dragon, Nidhoggr! For all eternity you have dwelt among the roots of the great world tree that drink from the poisonous waters of Hvergilmir. You pass time gnawing at the roots and feasting on the occasional damned as they wander aimlessly into the frozen wastes of Nifelhel.

However…

… the damned have begun to stir as an untold power has awakened them. Now they seek fortune and glory, hoping that killing a wurm of great evil, such as yourself, will earn them a place by Odin’s side in Valhalla, free of Hel’s grasp!

Nidhoggr - Twilight Beckons is inspired by the snake genre with a little bit of shooter elements mixed in. Part of the Argo Games Retro Arcade series, this game features hand drawn pixel art and a simplistic UI as an ode to the 8bit and 16bit eras.
